Bring On The Rain
Islème Sassi (2012) for Diogenes
Darkness come down on me and cover me
Fog, hey, come falling and hide me away
Silence come fill my ears and still the
Bustling of the crowd
Loneliness come reach for me and
Keep me company
I wish the clouds were closing in and
Bring on the rain
Sweeping away all the mess in my head
All the junk we are fed
Most of the time I'm being swallowed
By ubiquitous claims of false prophets not to be followed
They don't leave much space to my own interpretation
Of dark and light and its' many complications
If I could I'd be living miles away from you and from it all
On a mountain's top in a pithos making my life worth wile
I'll think about it all, I'll observe the waning of the moon
And all the things that matter to me
Things that matter per se
Don't disturb my thoughts.
