How did we survive the bare times?
How did our love persist?
Do you remember the cold creeping in?
Do you remember how long it took
For the gods to smile again
For the sun to reign again?

Summer has only begun
Seemingly endless day ahead
Grab my hand and hold your breath
For here comes beautiful Persephone

It’s easy to love you 
When the evening’s warm and the moon is full
Dire doubts sink down to the ground of my soul
They won’t die but they’re kept at bay

How long will it seem to be going on and on
For someone lying in the dark grass
Staring up into the sky
Scan it for the milky way
Waiting for the beautiful girl
To walk the shimmering grass
